Purchased and Installed a Basement Defender System
If I could give more than 5-Stars, I would.
In 2018 we purchased a U.S. Waterproofing sump pump back up system. I believe we paid approximately $2,300, at that time. This week, the system gave out as it kept beeping and the inverter was constantly running. I called U.S. Waterproofing to have a technician come-out to check the system. I was informed, because it was older than 3-years old and out of warranty, U.S. Waterproofing would no longer service the system. What a waste of my money!!
Since we frequently travel, a sump pump back-up system is a necessity. I called Parma-Seal, hoping to get an appointment within a couple days and I was pleasantly surprised to get an appointment for a technician to come to our house within 3-4 hours. As promised, Perma-Seal’s technician, Jeremiah Owens, called and provided an estimated time of arrival, which was 3:00 PM. Promptly at 2:55 PM, Jeremiah was at our door.
Jeremiah immediately identified himself and handed me his business card, which I felt was very professional. We then went downstairs to evaluate our back-up system, which I did not expect Parma-Seal to service. After carefully listening to our situation, Jeremiah provided a couple suggestions for a new back-up system. I did not feel that he was trying to “up sale” me or pressure me into purchasing one of Perma-Seal’s Systems. In fact, he suggested I go with the less expensive system, because it would better meet my needs and requirements. I was impressed when he informed me, the more expensive system would be over-kill. I truly appreciated his honesty. We then sat down as he explained the benefits of the systems and reviewed the breakdown of the cost(s). I felt very comfortable with my purchase, since Jeremiah made sure I understood the technology that was built into the system.
Subsequently, by 4:00 PM, Jeremiah was dismantling U.S. Waterproofing’s useless system and began installing our new Basement Defender. I can’t emphasize enough, the professionalism and care he took with installing the new system. Since we have a smaller Sump Pit, Jeremiah found a way to make all the pumps fit. He took his time and made sure all parts and electrical cords were neatly zip tied, as to not hang in an unsightly manner. We have had several plumbers service the pit, over the years, including U.S. Proofing, and never (and I mean NEVER) has a technician cleaned-up after themselves, like Jeremiah did. The area was spotless, when he was done.
After the installation was completed, Jeremiah was extremely patient, as he guided me through the app. set-up of the system. He made sure I understood all the benefits, ie. Temperature and humidity readings, remote testing and exactly how the system would inform, if it got tripped by an electrical failure or excessive water in the pit.
It was approximately 7:15 PM, when Jeremiah left our house. Not once did he mention anything about the length of time it took or the time of night, on a Friday. Also, Jeremiah was as pleasant when he left, as he was when he introduced himself.
I cannot give Jeremiah sufficient, “KUDOS” for an outstanding job. Not only was he professional in his work responsibilities, but his outstanding personality should be an example to anyone who works in a customer service industry. Parma-Seal should be proud to have such a dedicated and committed representative. He is truly a positive “face” for the company! Thank You, Jeremiah – Ron and Kathy Smith
