SEASPAR and Perma-Seal Dedicate New Computer Lab for EAGLES Program

Perma-Seal owners, Roy and Laura Ann Spencer (center), cut the ribbon at the dedication ceremony for the SEASPAR EAGLES’ new “Perma-Seal Computer Lab” in Darien. SEASPAR staff, EAGLES participants, and community supporters were also present.

Downers Grove, IL – Perma-Seal was honored to take part in a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new “Perma-Seal Computer Lab” for SEASPAR in Darien. The lab was made possible through a generous donation by the Perma-Seal Community Foundation, whose mission is to provide funding for local not-for-profit organizations as well as resources and support to the education of our youth. The donation was used to purchase a whiteboard and computers for the specialized EAGLES program for young adults with disabilities.

The ceremony was attended by Roy Spencer, Founder and President of Perma-Seal Basement Systems, Laura Ann Spencer, President, Perma-Seal Community Foundation, Allen Rodriguez, Perma-Seal Community Foundation, Kerry Morgan, Perma-Seal Marketing Manager, Linda Kunze from Downers Grove Downtown Management Corporation, David Olsen, Commissioner of Downers Grove, Dan Garvy of Lisle Park District, and several SEASPAR staff.

A year-round life skills enrichment program, EAGLES celebrated its 5-year anniversary in September. The program is designed to assist adults with disabilities, ages 18 through 55, as they transition to life in the community. EAGLES participants attended the ceremony and demonstrated how they use the new equipment on a daily basis.

Visibly moved, Roy Spencer said, “Seeing the participants interact with the new equipment was a very humbling and rewarding experience.” Laura Ann Spencer added, “Being able to help such a worthy organization provides Perma-Seal another opportunity to follow our vision: To Make the World a Better Place.”
