Perma-Seal Receives Award for Contribution to the Community

Perma-Seal Basement Systems, located in Downers Grove, IL, was honored last week with an award for Philanthropic Community Contribution by the Downers Grove Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

“Now in its fourth year, the Chamber Choice Awards resulted in a wealth of high quality nominations. These businesses and not-for-profit organizations are what really make this Village so special.” stated Laura Crawford, President & CEO, DG Chamber.

Each year, the winners are selected by a judging panel of previous Award winners and a luncheon is held to celebrate all of the nominees and announce the winners.
“The judging process can be a daunting responsibility, but it is certainly a joy! It is wonderful to learn more about the amazing businesses and people in the community while reviewing the applications,” said Susan Friend of S.E.A.S.P.A.R, Chamber Choice Award judge. For the first time, two nominees received the Philanthropic award; Perma-Seal is pleased to be recognized alongside Sara Lee Corporation.

Accepting the award for Perma-Seal was Director of Administration, Dan Schoendorff who gave thanks and said: “Since 1979 Perma-Seal has stood for the principles of striving for excellence, sincere customer service and fair compensation for its employees. Today, over 31 years later, Roy Spencer, Owner and President, has successfully incorporated the idea of ‘giving back’ in the company’s mission.”

Due to the overwhelming requests for support, Roy and Laura Ann Spencer are in the process of developing the Perma-Seal Community Foundation, whose mission is to provide funding for local not-for-profit organizations as well as resources and support to the education of our youth.
