2003 Torch Award Winners for Marketplace EthicsChicago, IL The Better Business Bureau of Chicago & Northern Illinois (BBB) on November 21 announced the 2003 winners of the seventh annual Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. the special awards luncheon ceremony was hosted at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza on December 4. Phil Schwarz, Meteorologist with ABC affiliate Channel 7 in Chicago will be presenting awards to: Combined Insurance Company, George S. May International Company, DiamondCluster International, Perma-Seal Basement Systems, and LaPelusa Home Improvement. "The Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics honors businesses large and small that make a demonstrated effort to promote ethical business practices," said James E. Baumhart, President and CEO of the BBB. "This year's participants and winners," Mr. Baumhart went on to say, "have reaped many rewards as a result of their commitment to achieving and maintaining high ethical standards including stronger customer loyalty, enhanced reputation, and greater employee commitment."
